Mariana Dahan
We are delighted to welcome Mariana Dahan as an Ambassador for Anglof Regional Foundation & Humanitarian Relief Agency (ARFHRA).
Originally from the Republic of Moldova, Mariana Dahan is the founder and CEO of the World Identity Network (WIN). Launched on Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island, WIN is an initiative striving to bring together the world’s brightest minds and leverage the potential of blockchain technology to solve some of humanity’s toughest challenges.
WIN has partnered with several United Nations agencies to organize the “Blockchain for Humanity” Global Challenge, resulting in a series of forward-looking technology approaches and solutions. Mariana is also listed in the top 100 global Identity influencers for 2019.
Mariana led the Identification for Development (ID4D) agenda of the World Bank – a global program which has resulted in $1 billion in lending and grants to developing countries. She is also a founding member of the Global Blockchain Business Council launched in 2017 at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Mariana started her career in the telecommunications industry in 1998. Having worked for mobile operators in both developed and developing countries, she gained valuable insights on the impact of new technologies on economic growth and social development. These are reflected in her book, “Quenching the Thirst for Innovation: Modeling the Diffusion of Mobile Technologies”. Dr. Dahan holds a PhD degree from ESCP Europe Business School and Paris II University in France. Prior to joining the World Bank Group in 2009, Dr. Dahan was a visiting researcher at the MIT Sloan School of Management in the U.S.
